They look so good!
SO BLUE.
The window switches and door locks are blue as well.
There's an issue (I guess?) where you can use the turn wheel that dims the lights to turn them all completely off. I don't think it's supposed to do that.
Also, OH MY GOD THE STEREO. It sounds so good. Everything is crisp and clear instead of being slurred. Now he just needs an Aux jack to plug his phone in.

NICE. How many bulbs was that, what make/model car, and how much of a PITA was it to get to all of them?

I have no idea how many bulbs. Probably at least 30.
His 2004 Silverado Extended Cab
Actually, GM made it pretty easy in the trucks. There's a big faceplate that comes off the dash and everything's just held in with clips and a few screws.
Opening some of the components was a PITA (mostly the stereo headunit) but otherwise, a bunch of clips and a few screws. He had to solder everything because of the switch from normal bulbs to LEDs.

Dear god. Those would be annoying as hell to drive with at night

what LEDs did he use?

You'd think so, but actually the factory orange in my mom's Vue bugs me more.

Huh maybe its just the pic but it seems very blinding

That's a damn good question. I think they were just some cheap Chinese shit he found online.

Just a really bad camera glare I think.

Probably. As long as the dimmer still works it would be fine

Cheap. I like that.

This whole thing cost maybe 20 bucks in lights, soldering stuff, and epoxy to fix broken clips.

Sweeet. I need to do this yesterday. Puke-green and piss-yellow are terrible colors for a dashboard.

awesome!

That's about what colors his was. He hated it from the day he bought the thing. The lights burning out just gave him an excuse to change them.

Being able to turn them off with the dimmer is a feature, not a bug. It's a carry over from the Saab "night mode".
Way too goddamn blue though, that would fuck my night vision so bad.
